2022-048 Principal ESS Tech – Principal Electronics Security System (ESS) Technician (5-7 Years Experience)
Position Description:
Aspiryon is seeking a Principal Electronics Security System (ESS) Technician
Overview:
The candidate(s) will install, operate, maintain, secure, and repair multiple physical security systems across multiple facilities. Systems include Access Control System (ACS) for badging and granting access to secure areas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that monitors authorized and unauthorized access to facilities, and a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system that monitors and records audio/video of all aspects of the physical environment.
Candidate will support a variety security control and access equipment. Must be able to perform fault diagnosis, repair, overhaul, refurbishment, scheduled preventative maintenance services including installation as well as calibration and alignment. Maintenance support includes electronics and mechanical support such as turnstiles and electronic control unit (ECU) repair.
Responsibilities:
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience as an electrician or electrical related experience
- Experience in low voltage power distribution design
- Competent in electrical and building codes
- Design and install voice, data and low voltage cabling that adheres to industry standards: Fiber, CAT 5e,6, 6a, 7, 8, Power over Ethernet (PoE), TA 568 A/B, etc.
- Design and install structured cabling hardware: conduit, raceway, j-hooks, patch panels, cabinets, racks and other associated equipment that meets industry standards and adhere to local code
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot Physical Access Control Systems to include panels, scramble pads, card readers, biometric readers and other associated equipment
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot networked Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems that includes: the mounting and placement of cameras, commercial grade local and network video recording systems
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot networked intercom systems
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot networked alarm systems
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot networked power backup systems
- Design, install, configure, program and troubleshoot data routing and switching equipment
Duties:
- Ensure that security controls applied to the system adhere to local operating procedures that are based upon regulatory, policy and industry requirements
- Maintain systems and equipment
- Work closely with enterprise technical teams for successful integration and use of security services
- Attend training courses, meetings and other sessions as required

Experience Requirements:
General understanding of TCP/IP networking
Detailed understanding of structured cabling and certifications preferred
Familiarity with the following technologies and manufacturers of equipment:
Network Infrastructure (Switches and Networking Equipment)- Cisco, HP, etc.
PACS- Identiv Hirsch Velocity, Reconasense, Avigilon, Open Options, Lenel On-Guard, Software House CCURE, DSX, etc.
Alarm- Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), Bosch, DAQ Electronics, etc.
Intercom and PA Systems- Zenitel, AIPHONE, etc.
CCTV- Genetec, Milestone, Vicon, Axis, etc.
