Network Engineer (Tier Two)

5+ years’ experience in the Information Technology industry.   Experience maintaining Network and Security technologies and the systems.  Understanding of Cloud technologies, network, security devices and ITIL process and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage change deployments that are updating configurations on security on equipment and report out issues.
  • Familiar with 2 or more of the following device configurations
    • firewalls: Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto
    • Routers: Cisco including circuit and WAN management
    • Switches: Cisco
    • Network Management tools: Netreo, Zabbix
    • IAM: Okta
    • EDR: Crowdstrike, Sentinel One
    • 5G equipment: Nokia, Cisco
    • IoT equipment
  • Maintain bridges and handle escalations for changes that have issues.
  • Maintain complete detail of issues in ticketing system.
  • Handle call from customer.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of all source data sets (indications and warnings).
  • Meet SLA/SLO requirements for response, restore, and notification time.
  • Mentor and train other personnel as needed.
  • Be able to work shift work to include 2nd and 3rd

Deployment Infrastructure Engineer Tier 3

The candidate is expected to have experience in configuring, tuning and managing various software deployment tools, preferably in a managed services environment. Expertise with one or more of the products and software suites below is required:

  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • IOS/Android Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment (InTune, MobileIron, Airwatch, Workspace ONE, Meraki, JAMF Now)

The candidate will provide support to Operations by consulting with customers and vendor partners to provide optimal service levels to multiple customers and customer environments. [REO1] [LA2] This may include managing and optimizing custom configurations for individual customers. This position will support consulting for customers on management of on- premise and cloud based patching and deployment systems, using native tools as well as PowerShell methods. This role will also provide engineering daily support and Tier 3 administration and support of SCCM [REO3] [LA4] infrastructure and similar Software Deployment infrastructure tools. This individual will be required to utilize an ITSM Ticketing system to track and record work performed in the governance tools.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write detailed process documentation that can be repeated and/or automated
  • Contribute to the creation of process documentation and training materials.
  • The Candidate will engage in the support of implementing deployment software (e.g. Intune) [REO5] [LA6] and migrating devices from the current SCCM/Software deployment environment [REO7] [LA8] and support additional configurations activities related to using Intune
  • The Candidate will work with the internal and external teams[REO9] [LA10] to develop/design technical architecture for Intune projects and configurations using Intune
  • Review and revise existing processes and implement new requirements to establish methods to successfully implement integration services in various environment(s)
  • Meet with peers, customers, and vendors to complete analysis and provide recommendations for path forward and support resolution of challenges as they occur
  • Work with resources to meet all standard operating procedures and required documentation and project reporting requirements needed for project progress communication

 

Qualifying Experience and Attributes

  • 5 years’ experience with 2+ in SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Experience with distribution and Monitor Applications published using MDM Admin console
  • Experience with MDM Incident Tickets and Basic Service Request in Queue
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources on patch and bug fix deployment
  • Experience presenting to stakeholders and achieving acceptance
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and deploying Intune and determining the migration approach for existing users from SCCM
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and deploying Intune (or similar) Application Protection Policies and Conditional Access Policies
  • Experience leading the configuration, development, testing and deployment of Intune
  • Meet with internal clients to assess needs, identify key challenges, and define project scope and deliverables for software application deliveries.
  • Investigate and recommend resolution steps for issues with Configuration Manager Client on endpoints via coordination with customers and partners
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and correct SCCM client and distribution point errors.
  • Troubleshoot and provide remediate steps for failed SCCM deployments and SCCM health issues
  • Knowledge of information technology (IT) security principles and methods
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
